Nano in the babyroom

Deploying awareness raising activities among consumers and retailers concerning nanotechnology

17.06.2010

Countries: The Netherlands
Donors: Nanopodium
Issues: chemicals & health; gender & rights
Duration: 04/2010 - 11/2010

WECF has been approved a project by the Nanopodium, the Societal Dialogue on Nanotechnology in the Netherlands. This is of relevance to WECF as it sets the scene in the Netherlands for the discussion on the ethical and social aspects of nanotechnologies. It provides the possibility for WECF to deploy awareness-raising activities around this issue under the general public by utilizing WECF’s own network of women organizations and other strategic partners.

WECF has developed and submitted a project “Nano in the babyroom” focused on the role of retailers in managing risks related to the market introduction of nano. The idea received a positive evaluation.
