Solar collector construction training in Issyk Kul region, Kyrgyzstan
From 25-29 September, 27 participants from nine communities from Issyk Kul region learned how to construct a solar collector.

Trainers were the local expert Azat Akmatov from "Agerkech" and the Georgian expert Nugzar Tateshvili from "Social Development Center Akhaltsikhe".
Training participants were interested people who are involved in the project "Home comforts" with KAWS, partly members of Water Users Unions that have been created by initiative of KAWS in former projects.
Construction of solar collector
Participants learned practical construction as well as theoretical background about solar collector technology and different kinds of materials to use also have been discussed.
Two solar collectors from iron (2 square meters each) were constructed and installed with a 200 l tank with heat exchanger at the training place.
Presentation of group work
The last training day focused on possibilities for development of small business. Very active participation and interest of participants showed that there is a big demand on information regarding this question.
The training is part of a series of trainings on sustainable energy and sanitation, that are carried out in the framework of the project "Home Comforts". A training on energy efficient stoves has already been organized earlier this year.
In the next year, further demonstration solar collectors and energy efficient stoves will be constructed in each of the nine project villages.
