Please find enclosed the women's major group recommendations for improvement of the Rio+20 zero draft. We would be very glad if your negotiators could maybe consider some of our recommendations.
The women's major group believes the document should have more focus on the following 3 areas:
- Gender Equality and Women’s Rights
- Human rights, rights of future generations and safeguards for women and vulnerable groups
- Strengthening public participation, access to information and justice
The summary structured according to the above priorities.
The full text of chapters III - V with all proposed changes.
The key recommendations by the women's Major Group were briefly presented during the Annual Breakfast Meeting of the Network of Women Ministers and Leaders for the Environment at the UNEP GC/GMEF in Nairobi last week.
