The working group focused on the importance of monitoring the implementations of commitments which were made in the Rio+20 Outcome Document “The Future We Want”. Those commitments include stipulations on finance, technology transfer, trade and capacity building. Sascha Gabizon presented the results of the working group to the plenary.
Core partner WEDO, based in New York, also participated in one of the two days. A short women’s caucus meeting was held to discuss priorities and plan meetings with New York based UN agencies. The next day, meetings were held with UNWOMEN and the gender team of United Nations development Program (UNDP). Those revolved around the options possible for future cooperation and the idea of a gender equality focus for the negotiations on the Sustainable Development Goals.
