The conference took place from 20 - 22 of November in The Hague with over 70 participants, the lead-organisations having received MDG-3 funding, or currently receiving FLOW funding.

WECF and 13 partners are among the FLOW fund beneficiaries. Under "Empower Women - Benefit (for) All" (EWA), WECF contributes to the economic and political empowerment of women. Targeting low-income rural and peri-urban regions, the programme is active in Afghanistan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, South Africa, Tajikistan and Uganda.  All of these countries face an enormous gap between their legal frameworks and the practices, especially in rural areas.

The participants of the FLOW meeting shared lessons learned from the MDG-3 fund and planned on a number of common activities to make the results of the MDG-3 fund better known. The MDG-3 fund achieved amazing results, amongst others 65 million women are now aware about their rights, and 100,000 women's organisations were strengthened.
