New hope for the climate? – New UN climate change negotiation round starts today

Climate Change is happening and accelerating. Strong political will and joint efforts are needed to address this threat.

WECF takes part at the negotiations with an international delegation of 10 women from Bolivia, Egypt, Georgia, Germany, India, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Paraguay and the USA to encourage and demand more ambition to close the three important gaps of gigatonnes, between word and action and gender as Ulrike Röhr from LIFE calls it in the intervention of the women and gender constituency at the opening of the COP (conference of parties), see pdf

WECF works closely with the Women and Gender Constituency and Climate Action Network (picture: WECF Safe Energy and Climate Change Coordinator Sabine Bock and WECF members Katia Uspenskaya, Friends of the Baltic Russia and Nurgul Esemanova, Unison Kyrgyzstan, at the conference center in Doha, Quatar.
