Launching 2014 reporting cycle for the Aarhus Convention - WECF highlights importance of input from civil society

The process of preparing the reports, which involves a dialogue with the public at the national level, is an extremely important aspect of the reporting mechanism.

01.05.2013 |WECF

Experience with preparing various national assessments demonstrates that multi-stakeholder consultations, including in the form of multi-stakeholder working groups, international, regional and non-governmental organisations, provide one of the best ways of ensuring comprehensiveness of information. Please make sure, that you enrich the national report in time with your information.

Final Deadline to submit the reports to the secretariat is 30 December 2013, parties are encouraged to submit their reports by 1 December 2013. The report can be composed in one of the official languages of the UNECE (English, French or Russian), as well as in  national language(s) of the Party (aarhus.survey@unece.org).
Voluntary translations in the other two UNECE languages are very welcome. Any translations of the reports will be made available online.

The Convention's reporting requirements can be found here and the guidance can also be downloaded from here. For comparison and further information, reports from previous reporting cycle can be seen here.
