The project of WECF France and Ormax ‘Safe Water and Sanitation for the Dominteni Kindergarten’ has been made possible with the 13th edition of the ‘Festival de l’Oh’, a local folk Festival focused on issues around water in Val De Marne, southeast of Paris, France

In late May 2013, more than 90 000 visitors attended the 13th edition of the ‘Festival de l’Oh’. 10 638 visitors used the shuttles to connecting the nine stations of the festival. With each travelling visitor, 2 Euros have been raised for the Moldovian project. The festival provided information about the human right to water, the accompanying campaign and issues of sanitation and water.

With the bad weather and security concerns, some of the festival’s activities had to be cancelled. However, this did not discourage the local cycle-club to battle through 750 kilometres of wind, rain, and cold to raise further 1000 Euros.

For two days, elected officials, technicians, and organizations rallied for support for WECF France and Ormax, introducing the project to nearly 100 people. Natalia Dejean organized a presentation of the project and together with Oleg Rotari and Eric Boez held a panel, debating the issues of water, sanitation, and health in the Moldavian context.

More information on the project ‘safe Water and Sanitation for the Dominteni Kindergarten’ is available here (in French).
