The UN Trusteeship Council Room was full with over 200 people, including many representatives of governments. There were 3 hours of gripping evidence from our speakers - Vivienne, Azra, Caroline, Marisa, Bhumika, Noelene, Sascha - on the need for gender and economic justice, and questions and comments from the floor.
This event launched the joint publication of WMG/FES paper titled "Strengthening Gender Justice and Human Rights to Achieve Sustainable Development" as well as the WMG compilation document "Gender Equality, Women's Rights and Women's Priorities: Recommendations for the Proposed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Post- 2015 Development Agenda", from which the WMG/FES paper is drawn. (Download here in multiple languages) These publications highlight women's perspectives on sustainable development themes and provide detailed analyses and recommendations.
