Call for Applications for the 2015 SEED Awards
Applications Now Open for Start-up Eco-enterprises to Win Top Award

Is your enterprise in a start-up phase and does it integrate social and environmental benefits, solving pressing local issues? Is it women-led? Do you need support to help to establish and grow your enterprise? If these questions apply to you, you will be pleased to hear that SEED has opened the Call for Applications for the 2015 SEED Awards.
This year SEED will make available up to 31 SEED Awards:
23 Africa Awards to enterprises in Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania and Uganda;
6 South Africa Awards to enterprises in South Africa, with up to three of them to enterprises in the provinces of Free State, Limpopo or KwaZulu-Natal;
2 Gender Equality Awards to enterprises in countries that are not OECD or EU Member countries; one of them to an enterprise in Kenya.
Applicants can only apply for a maximum of two SEED Award categories.
SEED Awards Prize
Each SEED Award Winner will receive a monetary award of US $5000, in addition to a package of tailored support services consisting of tools, capacity building, profiling and network building.
Eligibility criteria
You will be able to apply for a 2015 SEED Award if your enterprise:
demonstrates entrepreneurship and innovation;
delivers economic, social and environmental benefits;
has the intention and potential to become financially sustainable;
is a partnership between different stakeholder groups;
is locally driven or locally led;
has potential for scale up or significant replication;
is in the early stages of implementation;
meets the country- and/or gender-specific requirements set out above.

You can apply online at the SEED website or you can download an application form and email it to seedawards2015@seed.uno. If you are unable to submit your application electronically, please contact SEED by email or phone (+49 30 89 00 068 99). The deadline for applications is 31 March 2015, 23:59 Central European Time (CET). For more information about the application process, please contact seedawards2015@seed.uno.
Who will judge your application and how?
An internal selection team will process the applications in order to compile a shortlist of the most promising enterprises. 2015 SEED Award winners will be selected by an international jury of external experts in sustainable development. Winners will be honoured at an International Awards Ceremony taking place at the 2015 SEED Africa Symposium in Nairobi, Kenya, in September 2015.
