EWA success story: sustainable agriculture in Jar-Kishlok
Gaining agricultural knowledge and financial support facilitated by the EWA project allows for a rural mother’s new business to grow

Minavarkhan and project co-ordinators planning meeting
WECF and Mehr-Shavkat facilitated the creation of a successful agricultural business with the vision and determination of one woman from Jar-Kishlok village. Minavarkhan Akhmedova sought assistance to help her in setting up a business in producing cucumbers.
Through trainings organized by WECF’s EWA project, funds provided by Mehr-Shavkat and consultations with local agricultural experts, Minavarkhan has created a successful and sustainable business to help support her family. The profits generated by her business have enabled her husband to return from Russia where he was working as a migrant labourer. Minavarkhan intends on continuing to grow her business and expand her operations.
