WECF Is Elected Member of Beyond 2015’s Executive Committee

Beyond 2015 pushes for a strong and legitimate post-2015 development agenda

WECF is proud to be part of Beyond 2015’s Executive Committee. Beyond 2015 is a global civil society campaign, pushing for a strong and legitimate successor framework to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Representing Beyond 2015 at the regional, national and international level is one of WECF’s activities as a committee member.

WECF has both on the ground experience implementing MDGs and knowledge of the UN policy process, making WECF a valuable member of the committee. WECF director Sascha Gabizon is currently one of the coordinators of the Women’s Major Group (WMG) to the UN. On behalf of over 500 women’s organizations, WMG speaks in a single, bundled voice during the UN negotiations on the post-2015 development agenda, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). WECF’s priority is to ensure that the priorities of women and environmental organizations are well integrated into the new development agenda.
