Money raised goes to WECF members' Sustainable Solar Water Energy projects

29.05.2015 | Carmen Chan

Are you in for an adventure this summer? And you want to do good at the same time? Then sign up for The Big Chill – a unique road trip from Amsterdam to Georgia. Money that you raise goes to WECF members and helps them to create the very first independent SolarWaterVillage.

The idea is that you – together with a couple of your friends – buy a car with a price tag of 500 euro at most, and that you give this car a second life in the Caucasus. You drive the car there yourself. On your way, you sleep at campsites. Hopefully about 40 to 60 people will drive along. The cars will be sold at an auction in final destination Tbilisi, Georgia. Money raised goes to several small-scale local charities supported by WECF.

Costs per person are 480 euros. You will receive a road book, a road trip outfit with T-shirt and flip flops, 24/7 support through the phone, a finish party in Tbilisi and help selling your car. You arrange your flight back to the Netherlands, fuel for your car, food and drinks on the road, and the barbecue. Participating teams ask friends, family and co-workers for financial support for their trip.

Visit the website of The Big Chill for more information and for signing up.
