News on the Women’s Call for Global Climate Justice

05.10.2015 |

Last week, African CSOs gathered in Cape Town, South Africa to strategize African priorities for COP21 and re-think effective advocacy on climate justice towards Paris and beyond.

Demands included strong calls for financing for adaptation, ambitious and legally binding mitigation contributions from developed countries, and that all climate actions in the new agreement ensure gender equality. African CSOs stood together to endorse The Women's Global Call for Climate Justice - the Women's Environment Programme (Nigeria), Abantu for Development, CARE (relief agency), Support for Women in Agriculture and Environment (SWAGEN), Kenya Climate Justice Women Champions, LDC Watch and Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA) were among the many CSOs represented.
