Today the six winning designs of the poster contest organized by WEDO in cooperation with the Women’s Global Call will be revealed live in New York. The online launch of the designs is scheduled for tomorrow.

More than seventy submissions were received from six continents, but in the end the winning designs belong to Juliette Delorme, Nela Meriguet Martínez, Jeramy Turner, Josephine Ferorelli, Vanessa Cardenas and Maya Bhardwa.

The purpose of the contest was to garner more publicity for the Women’s Global Climate Justice campaign – which now has more than 7000 supporters - leading up to the COP21 in Paris. "The poster contest is an incredible opportunity to showcase the work of artists from around the world, the power of imagery to tell stories and inspire change, and to build momentum in the grassroots movement for climate justice," said Bridget K. Burns, Advocacy and Communications Director of WEDO.

The posters will also be prominently featured in Paris at the "Gender Just Solutions Exhibition" in the Climate Generations area of COP21, organized by WECF, WEDO and women's civil society, alongside a showcase of climate actions and solutions of women and activists from around the globe.

UPDATE: The six winning poster designs and runners-up have been launched online.
