The round table treated the topic of Violence against women and Economic Development

The round table, hosted by the Rural Communities Development Agency, was a result of the cooperation between WECF Georgia, EUMM Mtskheta, TASO Foundation (link) and aforementioned RCDA. The round table brought together women representatives from different fields, IDP women, decision makers, and experts on fighting against women violence who facilitated the interactive dialogues.
The main objective of this discussion was to build a common understanding on violence against women in Georgia, reflecting the causes and risks of violence, commit participants to creating a just and equal society by highlighting ongoing and emerging gender-based violence issues. In addition, a representative of the organization “Sapari”, which works on women's economic strengthening policy in Georgia, presented some of their research.
Women’s cooperatives and women’s groups from Mtskheta-Mtianeti region exhibited agricultural products produced by cooperative members which the participants had the opportunity to enjoy.
