COW 2013 7th Copenhagen Workshop on Endocrine Disrupters May 28-31, 2013

28.05.2013 - 31.05.2013 | Copenhagen, Denmark

Since the start in 2000 the Copenhagen Workshops on Endocrine Disrupters (also known as COW) have been a scientific forum dedicated to presentation and discussion of new knowledge on how environmental factors affect the endocrine systems and hormone related functions. Environmental factors have over the years been interpreted in the broadest sense to include e.g. lifestyle, pharmacology, as well as environmental chemicals and other environmental stressors. The scope of COW2013 will be no different, except this time we would like to focus more on genetic aspects. How does genetic variation influence the impact of endocrine disrupters? And how do environmental stressors affect the expressions of genes related to the endocrine systems? The meeting is supported by the Danish Ministry of the Environment as an activity under the Danish Centre on Endocrine Disrupters. The Copenhagen University Hospital (Rigshospitalet) will again be the venue site and Dept. of Growth and Reproduction your host.

The programme committee is currently busy securing the participation of excellent speakers, and a topical and interdisciplinary program is taking form. We also hope to receive interesting abstracts with new hot data to be presented as posters. The sessions are designed to allow time for discussion, and as for the previous workshops we also for this workshop plan to publish the proceedings as a special issue in a peer-reviewed scientific journal with discussions included. We also invite you to take part in net-working during the social events, including the workshop dinner.
