WECF will moderate the side-event “Violence – Ecologies – Livelihood – Feminists Confronting Unsustainable Development” at the 57th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW).
side event will examine the various forms of violence resulting from unsustainable development and related environmental degradation. Speakers will share experiences of violations against women’s human rights in contexts of land grabbing, mining, nuclear contamination, and disasters, and propose measures to achieve sustainable development and eliminate violence against women.
The respondent(s) will be UN agency representative(s), confirmed closer to the event.
The event will take place on the first floor Chapel, Church Centre for the UN, 777 United Nations Plaza, New York, USA. The event will begin at 10:30 in the morning.
