Global Women`s Assembly on Environment, Nairobi

WECF director and members speak at UNEP’s Global Women’s Assembly on Environment

From 11 to 13 October 2004 UNEP will host its first Global Women’s Assembly on Environment: Women As the Voice for the Environment (WAVE) in Nairobi. More than 100 women from all over the world are expected to attend the Assembly.
Special focus of WAVE is on the forthcoming Beijing+10 review session, the Five-year Review of the Millennium Development Goals and the Thirteenth Session of the United Nations Commission on sustainable development (CSD 13). It is hoped that the assembly will bring the implementation of Agenda 21 and the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation one step closer.  

From WECF the following speakers and participants will take part in WAVE; Ulrike Roehr of LIFE Germany, Svetalana Slesarenok of MAMA-86 Ukraine, Sascha Gabizon of WECF Netherlands and Germany, Muborak Sharipova of Open Asia Tadjikistan.
