Sustainable Sanitation in Kyrgyzstan - High Level Sanitation Conference
4 Kyrgyz members of the WECF network, together with the Kyrgyz National WASH Coalition, will organise a High level Sanitation Conference in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on November 11 and 12. The Event 'Sustainable Sanitation in Kyrgyzstan' will focus on opportunities and challenges of waste water management in the region.

The conference is organized as part of the project „A decentralized, sustainable waste water management for Kyrgyzstan“, funded by the German Ministry of the Environment. The conference will focus entirely on sanitation problems and solutions for Central Asia, and will include speakers from the highest presidential and government offices, the ministry of health, the Ambassador of Germany, the Director of the Ministry of Environment and Development of Norway.
During the conference project results will be presented along with the technologies of Dry Urine Diverting Toilets and Soil Filters. The conference aims to discuss challenges for Sanitation specifically in a Kyrgyz context. Conclusions shall be drawn by participants to what extend these solutions are appropriate for wider implementation in Kyrgyzstan.
