WECF and TIYE organise training for immigrant and refugee women in the Netherlands

WECF together with the Netherlands Association of Black, Immigrant, and Refugee Women "TIYE" organised a train the trainers seminar on Friday and Saturday 28 + 29 of January 2005. The meeting brought together 18 participants, all trainers working with TIYE local groups across the Netherlands.

The training included a session on health effects on women from chemicals in daily use, with examples of nitrates in food, conservatives in food, solvents in cleaning products, plasticizers in cosmetics and pesticides in the garden. The training also included a workshop on 'making your own non-toxic cosmetics' where the participants learned how to make facial creams and lip creams not containing hazardous substances.
