WECF continues lobby on Lisbon and Environmental Health

WECF sends letter to EU Heads of State and Ministers of Environment, Health and Competitiveness

As Germany holds the EU Presidency, WECF sent a letter to the Prime Ministers of Belgium, Netherlands and Finland Matti Verhagen , and the German Councelor in prepration of the Spring Summit. WECF asked them to prioritize the environmental burden of disease in the context of the Lisbon agenda (the plan to make Europe the most competitive, knowledge-based economy in the world).

WECF also send a letter to the German Ministers of Environment, Health, and Economy and Technology.
This was in advance of their respective European Council Meetings, where contributions to the Spring Summit (8-9 March), where the Lisbon Agenda will be discussed by Heads of State, will be prepared.

WECF also sent the letter in English to all EU 27 Ministers of Environment and Health. The letter was coupled with the WECF position paper:
