Environmental lawyers as well as other international environmentalists gathered at Lviv, Ukraine, in honor of  Prof. Kravchenko who passed away 2 years ago. She was, inter alia, a founder of the public interest lawyers’ group “Environment-People-Law” and a prominent member of the Aarhus Compliance Committee. Her commitment towards a human rights based approach in protecting the environment was revived during the conference. Ukrainian and international experts exchanged experiences and views about different legal systems and their implications for the environment and the international sustainable development framework and discussed issues of environmental governance in the context of “thinking” for a new Ukraine.
