In the negotiations about reduction of climate change in Durban one of the issues is if nuclear energy can be considered to be one of the solutions to reduce CO 2 emissions, this is not the case according to Herman Damveld.

In the following article by the Dutch energy expert Herman Damveld the claim of CO 2 free nuclear energy is analysed and shown to be wrong. When investments will go into building more nuclear plants this will compete with and prevent the building of highly efficient combined heat and power (CHP) plants and it will interfere with the development of sustainable sources of energy.
